We've been doing Drupal for longer than we'd care to mention, since version 4 for many of our team, so our experience is almost second to none. We are accredited by Acquia and AWS and hold various Information / Cyber Security certifications. We are also on G-Cloud and Digital Outcomes and Specialists CCS frameworks.
Why Code Enigma use LocalGov Drupal
The benefits of sharing a platform for councils are obvious; even in the past, many councils were on the same platform. This time, however, it's the councils that lead the development roadmap, not a private company interested in shareholder profits over government efficiency. And of course, the results of any investment are shared with all. For us LGD provides a solid platform we can rely upon, well developed, easy to maintain and consistent in its approach. It also aligns with our values, as long-standing advocates of open source software, and our expertise in Drupal.
We were already quite heavily immersed in local government digital services in the UK, so it was a natural progression for us to support LGD. We began by assisting Croydon, the second LGD user, in managing their Drupal websites, and subsequently encouraged other local government clients to consider it as well. We helped raise awareness early on, co-hosting local government seminars and creating "quick start" tools for the interested technical folk at UK councils. We've never looked back, we wholeheartedly support the distribution and continue to contribute whenever we can.
Our developers have addressed issues, provided testing, documentation, quick-start hosting tools, and a significant amount of marketing support, both through our partnership with AWS and at conferences and other Drupal events. We're also working on a French language version of LGD.
Code Enigma's work with Devon Council
We continue to work with North Devon Council and have helped them to deliver their new LGD website. They're by no means the largest LGD customer we're working with, but they do have a compelling story, which we think would resonate with many smaller councils. Operating on a modest budget, LGD gave them a huge leg up and allowed them to rapidly move an ageing website onto a modern, GDS standards-based, and fully accessible platform.
Along the way, we were able to support their digital team, helping them with the trickier bits and coaching their in-house developer on using Drupal. The combination of an open source platform, a willing team, and solid support services allowed them to save a significant amount of money by doing much of the work themselves.
