We help local government teams publish consistent, user-centred content in Drupal by working alongside them on real work. Our approach is collaborative and practical. Instead of presentations or generic training, we embed ourselves within content teams to build content patterns, confidence, and better publishing processes through day-to-day content requests.
Our senior content designer, Steph Tucker, has supported councils through large Drupal migrations, produced microsites and subsites, and developed design systems and publishing workflows, helping teams move faster while reducing risk and inconsistency.
Cornerstone Content's work with councils
We have delivered five LGD Drupal migration projects alongside several microsite builds, giving us strong experience of working within the platform. Most recently, we developed a number of microsites for Dumfries and Galloway Council to a tight deadline, working closely with service teams to migrate content from the GOSS platform into LGD microsites.
In partnership with Rohallion, we implemented core LGD CMS content types within the microsite platform. This enabled a more structured, consistent approach to content, improving usability and making it easier for service teams to manage and maintain their information.
Compared to other council CMS platforms we’ve worked with, LGD stands out for its flexibility and adaptability. Many legacy systems are rigid and limit how content can be structured or evolved. In contrast, LGD allows us to iterate quickly, respond to user needs, and develop more effective, user-centred solutions.
Outcomes have included faster delivery timelines, improved content consistency, and better collaboration with stakeholders, ultimately supporting clearer, more accessible council services.
Cornerstone Content Limited has delivered content design services for five LocalGov Drupal migration projects, including:
- Croydon Council
- Cumberland Council
- Dumfries and Galloway Council
- Luton Borough Council
- Westmorland and Furness Council
Across these projects, we’ve helped develop practical content guidelines for using Drupal effectively within each council. We’ve also shared our learning with the wider LGD community, contributing insights from real delivery work to help improve content standards, patterns, and publishing approaches across councils.
